What is the WISE NL Indigenous Youth Conference?

The Women in Science and Engineering NL (WISE NL) Indigenous Youth Conference is for high school students who are interested in learning more about career options in science and engineering. Students will be encouraged to consider a career in these fields through professional development activities, mentoring and knowledge of the opportunities available. Students can bring this information back to their school and promote opportunities in their home communities among their peers.

Who can apply for the WISE NL Indigenous Youth Conference?

Full-time high school students in grades 10-12 are invited to apply. Preference will be given to students who self-identify as Indigenous; however, all students are encouraged to apply.

Where will the WISE NL Indigenous Youth Conference be held and what is the cost?

The conferences are typically held in Corner Brook, NL. All costs associated with travel, accommodations, meals and conference fees will be covered. Participants may choose to bring personal spending money.

What is the Exploring ROV Webinar?

The Exploring ROV Webinar is held online by WISE NL in partnership with the Marine Institute.

Who can apply for the Exploring ROV Webinar?

Participation is at the school level. Schools participating in the past included St. Lewis Academy in St. Lewis Labrador and Belanger Memorial High School in Doyles Newfoundland.

When will the Exploring ROV Webinar be held and what is the cost?

Sessions are typically planned for the spring or fall. Past sessions were held during Science Literacy Week and Science Odyssey Week.
